ARCH STREET PRESS

“To me, the annoying part of writing is getting someone to actually read it.”

At Arch Street Press, we’ll read your writing. We promise.

Submission Guidelines

At Arch Street Press our mission is to publish the work
of talented writers and leading changemakers. We believe that too often great writing, important stories, and new ideas fail to find the audience they deserve because the author is “unknown.”

We are interested in contemporary novels and memoirs that have strong characters,
narrative sophistication and an irresistible voice.

Our nonfiction selections include books that offer breakthrough ways of approaching
persistent social issues.

About

Arch Street Press is a gateway for talented writers, including novelists, memoirists, and social changemakers whose work is often overlooked by traditional publishers. Our publishing choices are informed by the quality of writing and the author’s thoughtful exploration of important themes and characters.

Arch Street Press has published books by luminaries in the arts such as Clive Gillinson, creative director of Carnegie Hall, and Lera Auerbach, a classical composer and musician of international renown. We also published a memoir by the former Chief Financial Officer of Washington, DC, and by Ward Allan Yont, who is serving a life sentence for murder.

“I finished my first book seventy-six years ago.
I offered it to every publisher on the English-speaking earth I had ever heard of.
Their refusals were unanimous: and it did not get into print until, fifty years later;
publishers would publish anything that had my name on it.”

– George Bernard Shaw

Our Good Name

Arch Street Press proudly announces the publication of Our Good Name May 2022

Our Process

Editing

Manuscripts accepted for publication are carefully copy edited in collaboration with the author. Copy editing identifies and corrects grammar, spelling, style, and punctuation issues before the manuscript is prepared for proofreading. Manuscripts are proofread before they are sent for design.

Design & Production

We provide the author with a choice between two cover designs. The interior of the book is laid out with careful attention to typography and page design. Manuscripts are prepared for both print and e-book formats.

Distribution

We currently distribute to the Amazon platform and to Ingram though we have a no-return policy with Ingram.

Marketing

Our marketing team works with each author to develop a plan with an emphasis on social media marketing. Our marketing efforts are discussed with the author prior to publication of a book; we expect each author to undertake a significant amount of marketing, with our guidance, on their own behalf.
